David Glover at Pure Hair & Body!
{Southeastern Wisconsin Photographer}

This was a different kind of session/photo shoot for me.  Stepping outside my little box for a bit  LOL  and taking a photojournalist approach to my photography. I had an exciting morning at Pure Hair & Body in Elkhorn where David Glover came to the salon to meet and talk to the stylists about Kevin Murphy’s amazing products.  They learned many new techniques and styles from David and I am sure they are very excited to share with their clients.  David Glover is a session stylist who’s amazing talent can be found  in magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and Harpers Bazaar. David has worked on some of the most famous catwalk shows in London, Paris and Milan.  He has styled many top models and celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Linda Evangelista, Elle McPherson, Tyra Banks & Helena Christensen.  Anyway, I had an amazing time and wanted to share a few of the shots with you.  It was wonderful meeting the owner of Pure Hair & Body, Cynthia and her amazing stylists.  Thank-you for contacting me and sharing the experience with me, Kimberly

Trash The Dress Vegas Style!
{Southeastern Wisconsin Photographer}

I had the opportunity this week to go to a photographers convention in Las Vegas.  The whole experience was amazing.  Well, except for the terrible flight problems on the way there AND on the way back.  But, that is a whole nother blog post.  LOL  Anyway, I took some amazing classes with some amazing speakers, I got to see some amazing new photography products, and I got to meet some new amazing friends who I’ve only known virtually.  So, as you can see… it was an amazing experience and one that I will definitely do again.  Also while I was in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and I shot some beuatiful models for a “Trash the Dress” session Vegas style.  It was a ton of fun and would love to incorporate this type of work into my high school senior sessions in their prom dresses.  I took a ton of images and would like to share a few with you.  I hope you like them.  While you are visiting my blog, click on the “leave a comment” link below this post and leave me a comment.  I would love to know what you think.  Thank-you, Kimberly

Urban Siblings!

Often times, we as parents, take our kids to get their photos taken from the moment they are born and then typically, it stops when they get a bit “older” until their senior year. Then we get their senior portraits and then probably don’t/won’t do it again until their wedding.  In my professional photographer’s opinion, we need to get out of that state of mind and capture those moments.  I often hear from moms when I am out at a high school senior session “we have not had so and so’s pictures taken since she/he was 5 years old”.  Hmmmm, 5 years old?  School aged?  This means we settle for the “school photos” every single year.  I am not one to turn my nose up at school photos.  Well, not really.  The reason I personally purchase a school photo of my kids is this… it’s the “same” backdrop, “same” lighting, the “same” pose and the “same” time every year, year after year.  I get that photo and put it in the same frame as the previous years photos.  Pull out the previous years photos, and am in awe at the changes.  However, these school photos are great for that one reason.  But, they do not showcase “who” my kids are.  Their personalities, their soft or hard side, their gorgeous eyes and they do take images of my kids together.  So, with that said and the lecture out of the way (LOL)…. I had a really great time at this session today and it was wonderful meeting this brother and sister.  Although their ages are separated by quite a few years and although I only had the opportunity to spend about an hour with them, they seemed very, very close.  And, Mr. D is leaving next week for a few months, I am guessing these portraits are going to be very special to all of the family.  Anyway D and K, it was wonderful meeting you today and D, I want to wish you the best of luck in you ventures.  So, with all that blah, blah, blah said, here is a little sneak peek for you. I hope you and a good time.  🙂  And, while you are visiting my blog, click on the comments link below this post and leave me a comment.  I’d love to know what you think.  Thank-you, Kimberly
