Senior Model…Class of 2014!!!
{Southeastern Wisconsin High School Senior Photographer}

Vanessa here is another one of our Class of 2014 senior model representatives.  The beginning of our session was rough… I mean really rough.  We were at the lake, on an open pier and the wind was horrendous and being in the wide open, there was no shelter to help us.  So, then we went down lower onto the beach hoping that would be better, but nope, it wasn’t.  So, I had to make the executive decision to head to our urban portion of the session and do a re-shoot by the water at a later date.  We went to the urban location and that went really, really well due to the buildings blocking that wind.  After the urban portion, we decided to give the beach one more try hoping the wind had died down… and it did so we were able to finish out the session.  So, moral of the story, NEVER give up.  🙂

Anyway, if you know Vanessa and are interested in scheduling your high school senior portraits with Kimberly Ann Photography, make sure you ask Vanessa how you can save on your portrait session.

Senior Model…Class of 2014!!!
{Southeastern Wisconsin High School Senior Photographer}

Wow how time flies…. my kids used to go to daycare…. yes, daycare with this young man.  In a way, that feels like it was forever ago, but on the other hand, it feels like it was just yesterday and now he’s going to be graduating high school next year.

Jake here is one of our Class of 2014 senior model representatives and he rocked this session.  We went downtown Milwaukee and it was such a gorgeous evening.  I don’t get the opportunity to shoot downtown very often so it was such a nice change.

Anyway, if you know Jake and are interested in scheduling your high school senior portraits with Kimberly Ann Photography, make sure you ask Jake how you can save on your portrait session.

A True Photographer Never Stops Learning!!!
{Southeastern WI, Northern Ill Photographer}

I may have been a photographer for years now and in business as Kimberly Ann Photography now for almost 9 years but that does not mean I know everything about photography and it does not mean I am ready to stop learning, training and growing as an artist. I believe the person who thinks they know everything there is to know about their career choice, well, those are the ones who will stop growing. And, I am definitely not ready to stop growing because that is when I would be ready to just quit.

I go to many training workshops or seminars a year to keep growing and for inspiration and this one I just returned from was the most intense one I have ever been too yet.  It was called After Dark Education in St. Louis and it was 3 FULL days of non stop training.  From business, to lighting techniques, photoshop, indoor shooting, outdoor shooting etc… you name it, we did it.  My brain was on overload.  LOL  We started at noon everyday and it pretty much went until you called it quits which was close to 3:00am for me every night/morning.  It was an amazing experience and if they continue After Dark, I WILL be back.  And, for any other photographer reading this post, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Anyway, we had MANY mentors and even more models there to play with.  I however, am not a paparazzi type shooter.  I like to sit back and watch and learn rather than trying to jump in a get the shot.  I learn by watching, taking photos of the set-ups and notes.  Lots and lots of notes.  But, this photo below, I just had to get in on it.  This shooting area was The Walking Dead shoot-out and just for fun.  It was 11pm and my brain turned off for the night so I joined this shoot-out and I’m glad I did.  It was so fun watching the mentors set-up for this.  We were at the Union Station in St. Louis and a portion of the mall was closed for construction so they opened it up just for us.

So, here it is…. Just for fun… The Walking Dead…..

Sisters, Family… Fun!!!
{Southeastern WI / Northern ILL Family Photographer}

This family was a blast to work with.  They were vacationing at the Lake Lawn Lodge while on their Spring break and wanted photos just of the girls…. however, I was excited to find out when I got there that mom and dad decided they wanted to be in the photos too.

I was thankful for a very mild sunny day the day of our session.  Especially for the end of March in WI, you never know what you are going to get.

Anyway, we had a really good time and we also had some interesting events during the session…. without going into details we’ll just say someone getting a tad wet when “her” leg went through the icy lake was interesting and the fire alarms were interesting as well.  Hahaha….

disclaimer #1: nobody was hurt during this photo session

disclaimer #2: I had nothing to do with the icy lake.  LOL  Just so nobody thinks I ever put my clients in danger.  🙂

It was really nice meeting you “H” Family.  I hope you had a wonderful vacation together.

Thank-you, Kimberly

Winter Wonderland Sessions…. Sign Up Starts NOW!!!
{Southeastern Wisconsin Portrait Photographer}

Get on the waiting list for our Winter Wonderland Sessions NOW!!!

Ohhhhh how I love photographing families, children and high school senior sessions out in the snow.  Beautiful sheets of fluffy white snow, kids on sleds, families having a snowball fight or building a snowman, teenagers hitting the slopes, snowmobiles… just to name a few. It is beautiful and fun and the kids, big or small, love it.

Kimberly Ann Photography has been doing these types of sessions for the last few years and it has generated a lot of interest and we have already been getting questioned if we were going to do this again.  And the answer: Absolutely YES!

I am the first to admit that I hate the cold weather that is fast approaching.  However, within the cold lies some forgiveness, because I love the beauty of the winter white scenic snow, and what could be more fun than having a photo session outside in your winter best outerwear, with the ones you love?

So, if a “Winter Wonderland Session” interests you and you would like to be put on our waiting list, email us at info@kimberlyannphotography.com with “Winter Wonderland Session” in the subject line.  Leave your name, phone number, your location, what type of session (family, high school senior, children) and we will put you on the our wait list.  These sessions are on a first come, first serve basis when the snow starts to fly. Snow and temperatures are a factor in these sessions that’s why it’s important to get on the wait list now.  It is Wisconsin after all… you just never know.  🙂

We look forward to working with you. ~Kimberly and Mary Ann

Wonderful Family!!!
{Northern Illinois Child/Family Photographer}

This was a very fun family to work with.  They were all together celebrating Grandma and Grandpa’s anniversary and while they were all together, they hired us to come out to their lake home to take family photos.  They scheduled this session back in I believe February and we scheduled an early morning session.  We were so thankful we did.  By 8:00am, it was already 90deg and climbing.  By the afternoon, we hit 100+.  So, even though it was still very hot that morning, we were still very thankful for the early morning start.

The kids are all 3 years old and under.  That is always a challenge itself but I had my assistant Mary Ann the goof with me jumping around behind me being all silly to get the kids attention.  That worked like a charm and the kids did a great job and they are all soooooo cute.  All four of them have such gorgeous eyes.  🙂 Just beautiful!

Anyway, it was so nice to meet all of you. Mary Ann and I had a wonderful time working with you.  I know you are anxious to see your finished images and it won’t be much longer now.  But, in the meantime, I thought you would enjoy a little sneak peek from our session together.  🙂

Beautiful Family of 4!!!
{Oconomowoc WI Child/Family Photographer}

Blogging once again.  Due to the 4th of July holiday, my favorite holiday, we fell a little behind with blogging.  We’ve been playing the game of catch up and now we are back to blogging some recent sessions.  So, stay tuned for some more gorgeous families, high school seniors and a newborn to be coming up in the next few days.  🙂

Anyway, meet the “M” family.  A beautiful and fun family on their Okauchee Lake home.  It was a sunny and beautiful evening but it was HOT.  No, not just a little warm, it was HOT…. but, mom, dad and the kids did great. Sometimes I worry about little ones in the heat and worry that due to the heat, they may have a melt down and not last very long… but, that was not the case here.  They did surprisingly well. 🙂

It was wonderful meeting you “M” family and I hope to see you again.

Here is a little sneak peek for you while you are waiting to see the rest of your session…. which, will not be much longer now.  🙂
